This place was exceptionally nice. I would have to agree with other reviewers that I was surprised by the lack of people. We saw only a few other guests during our stay. This did make it nice as we had the entire restaurant to ourselves during meals. A comment about the restaurant-I believe the hotel read the reviews posted and improved the food. Each breakfast was very good. We ate dinner there one night and the Thai food was outstanding. Plus, the service was top notch (as we were the only guests in the restaurant). The hotel´s location is a little outside town, in a residential section. Yet, it´s an easy walk into the bustling metropolis of Chiang Rai, or a 40 baht tuk-tuk ride back to the hotel (it´s virtually impossible to get a tuk-tuk from the hotel to town, but the hotel has a relatively expensive car service). The hotel is right on the river and quite peaceful. The pool is very nice, and its negative edge adds a dimension of allure. The rooms are large and well appointed-good lighting, satellite TV, phone, and mini bar. The room in which I stayed had a porch with a swing and table-very nice for enjoying the peaceful, relaxing nights. The large shower room-approximating an outdoor shower-is very interesting and a nice touch.
