We enjoyed the Koh Chang Paradise very much. The grounds were great and well kept and the pool area was lovely. I noticed some other comments were that part of the pool could be closed in for warmer water. I know this is an island in the tropics, but even still, it can feel a little cool at night, so a hot tub would be nice. The staff was freindly if a little uncomprehending at times, we are quite local here after all.
The rooms were simple but clean and had large bathrooms. We would definitely consider staying here again and recomending it to others. For the price, great value, location at Klong Prao is good, beach is great, excellent for kids, very shallow and calm, although leaves do tend to wash up. (they clean the beach every morning. One good bar across the street, an excellent island supermarket, and a good thai place are all right there. No real nightlife though. Unless you are looking for a party, you will like the place.

We had a beachfront superior bungalow which you could not fault for position, 5 metres from sea. The bungalow was simply, but adequately furnished but was showing its age in places, especially the bathroom, even though I believe it is only about 3 or 4 years old. Breakfast was good, especially if you were into Thai food, but we only had dinner in the hotel once, which was OK, as there were plently of other restaurants dotted along the beach where the food was better and half the price. Minor criticism - why does the hotel use plastic plates, cups etc - food just doesn´t taste the same of them! The mini-bar in the room must be about the cheapest in the world! - some items were actually more expensive in the supermarket across the road. The compulsory New Year´s Eve Gala Dinner is to be avoided; it started at 6pm with cocktails and nibbles, good start; the setting in garden was great and the place well decorated. Dinner was a buffet which was OK but not spectacular. There was a 2.5 hour Thai dance show which went on just too long, but the worst part of all was a 2 hour raffle/draw session run by a Lady-Boy compere, who thought he was funny, but wasn´t - by the time he had finished most people had left and joined in other parties along the beach to see in the New Year. Forgetting that all in all it was a very pleasant stay and one I would repeat.
