The breakfest could inclued "more to eat", as a scandinavian cheese on the bread for exampel would be apreciated. A little bit long way from the beach and the Ao Nang center. The pictures and descriptions of the location of the rooms did not respond to the reality, it is easy to beleave from them that the rooms have poolside view. Was this review helpful? They kept the room really clean and wonderful. * The breakfast restaurant manager came up to us. Are you Singaporean? When we said yes, they handed us a pamplet to say that we have buffet dinner tonight. Eat all you can at $400THB per person. He is rude and assumptive, not all Singaporean likes to eat buffet and why only Singaporean? * The front office lost the masterkey of the main safe box of the hotel. My passport was kept there and when i went to collect, they made me wait for a long time and not explaining that they lost. Untill when i have to depart for the airport, they called engineering to pry open the safe. * When i ask the reception for assistance, she does not really understand what i am asking for. Krabi an island with tourist whereby English is a common language internationally, shouldn´t they place a girl that can speak and understand simple English. * i went to the Front Desk to enquire if there are rooms available with the intention of upgrading my room from the Superior to Deluxe, assuming that i wanted a complimentary upgrade they mention that they are fully booked. When i mention that i want to pay the difference, they mention that there are rooms available tomorrow, please come to front desk to verify. Was this review helpful? Yes - No 276 of 516 people found the following review helpful: a very nice and big room, location not so good... by MIHKEL MATTISEN from Tallinn,Estonia (February 18, 2006)       Overall: Service: Location: Rooms: Cleanliness: Value for money:   i really liked our room,it was big,it had a window between the livingroom and the bathroom and as we had a seaview room we had a really nice view over the andaman sea.but this is not a hotel close to the beach,it`s actually quite far.the closest beach to the hotel is noppharat phara beach,which is definitely not the place you want to be!so,you have to take a 10-15 minutes walk to ao nang beach and this is a place where it`s ok to take a sunbath and have a nice swim.for a better sunbath and for a better swim you have to take a long tail boat to railay,this is the place where you should go and it costs only 60 baht one way..........la playa resort was ok,but i don`t think i will go back because of it`s location.and one more thing is the breakfast-worst i`ve had......NB!no cheese!!! The steps leading to the pool from hotel room were cluttered with floating leaves, dead insects and oil patches (on one occassion I saw a cockcroach hanging by the side wall). The hotel is clean and rooms are huge. The pool is great! The shops are about 5 mins walk away and the nite market another 5 mins away. All in all, I would consider the location to be quite convenient as there are very affordable transport just outside the hotel for those who don´t even want to walk that few minutes to the beachfront or shops! A number of the hotel staff can communicate in English well enough even though some are not as well versed. Just 1 minute´s walk from the hotel is a minimart where you can stock op on water and other essentials and next to it is a hawker style eating place with many individual stalls offering yummy local treats at very good prices! The food there is truly fantastic! We could eat there every lunch and dinner for a week. Kudos to the chef(s)! Not just fantastic food but great prices too. Restaurant was also beautifully decorated and had a nice view of the pool which made dining there an even better experience. They also have a really nice huge pool with a bar. And they also have staff walk round the pool regularly to take any orders for drinks and the drinks are then served to us. It had beautiful huge, spotless, rooms with a great view of the ocean. Was a joy to wake up each morning! Staff was extremely warm & friendly, from the reception to the waiters/waitresses at the reataurant...never failed to greet us with a smile. Always smiling, always cheerful, always helpful. Much as we liked the food, we were most impressed with the service at this hotel. The hotel van brokedown and the hotel manager personally drove us to the airport in his own car! Our only complaint is the bed. It wasn´t a double bed but 2 single beds joined together, wasn´t so comfortable to sleep in. Would we go back? MOST DEFINITELY!! We´re planning to go back again this year. Was this review helpful?
