I´m very surprised to not see a single review of the Boathouse on this site. This website seems to have the best internet prices too. Well, here´s my rating. We stayed 5 days and loved it. We give Mom tri´s a rating of 8 out of 10. There is no doubt, the service here is SUPERB. Wonderful and friendly staff who seem happy to be working here. Great location on the quiet south end of Kata Yai, a lovely and clean long beach where one can swim and suntan for hours. Nice well kept orange unmbrellas and the beach staff serve water and drinks. At night, they take away the umbrellas and there are a couple of lights that illuminate the beach in front of the boathouse and you often see people walking and children playing in the sand. This therefore is the best place to go for a quick dip in the ocean at night. You can also watch the people dining at the boathouse on the beach. The food is delicious, the breakfasts are nice and the coffee is the best we´ve had. The rooms are nice but need some minor upgrades. The brown carpets have to go, they´re unnecessary. New wooden floors will be perfect like at the rooms at Kata beach resort next door. Then i will give it 9/10 rating. To receive a rating of 10 will be tough. Most rooms have small views of the beach and ocean. Even the ocean front suites have their views partially obscured by the bodhi or casuarina trees that lend shade to the whole hotel. Our room was facing the ocean but the view was partially blocked by the roof , although a pretty Thai one, of the upper lounge at the front of the hotel. Nevertheless, i´d stay here again and will miss it when i return home.
